Liturgical Studies

Liturgical Studies

My liturgical interests include baptism, Christian initiation of infants, eucharist, the marriage liturgy, liturgical year, lectionary, liturgy and justice, liturgy and ecumenism, lay liturgical leadership, liturgical language, inclusion of women and children in the liturgy, and Sunday worship without eucharist. I believe that liturgical reform and renewal must continue in the 21st century and that critical reflection on the verbal, nonverbal and musical dimensions of the liturgy is always needed.

Present Interests and Previous Publications

Some of my present interests and some of my previous publications are identified below, arranged according to the following categories.

Between 1988 and 1996 I served as Editor of the National Bulletin on Liturgy, and in these thirty-six issues wrote all unsigned articles. In listing publications, I include the themes of the issues which I edited (and sometimes largely wrote) plus other articles not related to the theme of the issue.

The National Bulletin on Liturgy is published by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops.
